The term candling comes from the days past when farmers would look at their hatching eggs by looking at them using the light of a candle to backlight them. When you candle your eggs you are looking to remove clears - eggs with no embryo inside, and dead embryos. This reduces the risk of infection to the rest of the eggs, as eggs will go bad.

2. What eggs will this candle?

Everything!. We have yet to find an egg this Candler will not illuminate. Hens, Ducks, Quail, Geese etc eggs all are no problem.
