1. How do I turn the eggs?
You will need to turn the eggs at least twice a day...preferably three times, so the longest spell during the night is on the opposite side of the egg each night. To turn the eggs, mark each egg with an arrow pointing at each other on opposite sides. Using a damp finger, roll the egg in the direction of the arrow to the other arrow each turn.
2. Humidity - how is controlled?
Humidity levels are controlled by adding more water into a receptacle in the bottom of the incubator. Humidity varies from one area of the country to another, so it is hard to say how much water you will need. Most reports suggest adding no water from day 1 to day 18 (hen eggs) and then filling the container for the hatching period - day 18 - 22. Using a hygrometer is the only sure way of telling you have got it right.
3. How is temperature controlled?
This incubator comes with a high precision thermometer. The thermometer is put into a hole in the incubator lid, the incubator switched on and allowed to settle. Heating is indicated by a red led light on the top of the incubator. As the temperature is reached the red led will start to flash. This is normal and indicates the correct functioning of the electronic temperature control card. If the temperature needs increasing then a small knob on the top of the incubator is turned.
