F.A.Q.
1. How are the eggs turned? (Autoturn (AV) versions only)
The eggs are placed in a grid placed on the floor of the incubator. The grid is moved to the left and right, pushing the eggs, and rolling them to the left then right.
2. Humidity - how is controlled?
- PioPio AV and Digital Only: Humidity levels are controlled by adding more or less water into receptacles in the incubator. Humidity varies from one area of the country to another, so it is hard to say how much water you will need. Most reports suggest adding one tray of water from day 1 to day 18 (hen eggs) and then filling the
second container for the
hatching period - day 18 - 22. Spot checking using a hygrometer is the only sure way of telling you have got it right. Alternatively fitting a Maino wet bulb hygrometer to your incubator will give you constant piece of mind. 3. How is temperature controlled?-
PioPio Hatcher and AV only This incubator comes with a high precision thermometer. The thermometer is put into a hole in the incubator lid, the incubator switched
on and allowed to settle. If the temperature needs adjusting then a small knob on the top of the
incubator is turned a small amount to increase or decrease the temperature. 4. What eggs can be incubated in the PioPio series?
Your PioPio incubator
is supplied with a turning tray for hen, quail, bantam, or goose eggs. |
